Technical Services

Mobile and data technical services

20:20mobile’s MDTS operation is one of the distinguishing facets of our business.  This technical function was originally established as a centre of expertise for wireless technology.  Today, MDTS operates at the cutting edge of cellular product development, working closely with major manufacturers, software platform providers and network operators.

MDTS is trusted and authorised by operators and manufacturers to test and certify products for operational compatibility and compliance with network standards.  With their expertise our clients are able to specify any handset configuration, network operator setting, software image or custom installation for the terminals we ship on their behalf.

In response to customer needs, MDTS creates unique solutions for the creation, deployment and management of mobile handsets.  Recent projects have included the development of a webstore for multi-platform mobile handset software; an on-device portal (ODP, or handset app store) and a support wiki designed for use in retail, call centre and online self-help environments.

Many of our clients regard MDTS as the consultants of choice for technical projects in the mobile market.

Mobile broadband support

For network operators, device manufacturers and mobile phone retailers, connecting smartphone and IT equipment to a mobile network is rewarding.  It meets user demand for mobile connectivity and generates data traffic and revenue.  However, due to the complexity and openness of this product set, customer satisfaction and supplier profitability have to be defended with robust support services.

The objective of our mobile broadband support service is to manage the user experience to ensure a satisfied and connected customer for mobile broadband services with smartphone, laptop and netbook products by:

  • reducing the cost of support calls
  • preventing unnecessary product returns
  • minimising user disconnections and downtime from the cellular network.

For speed and immediacy of response, mobile customers are likely to call for support.  Our contact centre services are available to help customers successfully set up, connect, configure and use their mobile broadband.  The measure of our success is that the customer stays connected with a product that is functioning as expected.

We also provide self-service capability by continually updating and publishing the knowledge we have captured.  Our remote management capabilities using over-the-air updates save the user the time and cost of physically visiting a retail location for device support.
